UPSL Announce Kansas Expansion With Barilleros FC

Olathe, KS Based Club Joins UPSL Midwest Conference For Spring Season

March 29, 2021 – Los Angeles, CA – The United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) is pleased to announce Barilleros FC as its newest expansion club ahead of the Spring Season.

Based in Olathe, KS, Barilleros FC will begin UPSL play in the Midwest Conference South Division. The club will host its home games at Olathe District Activity Center (20925 159th Street, Olathe, KS 66062).

Mike Garcia is the Owner and President of Barilleros FC. Alexis Susunaga is the Team Manager. John Sosa is the Head Coach. 

UPSL Commissioner Yan Skwara said, "We are excited to welcome back Barilleros FC as a member of the UPSL's Midwest Conference. Barilleros was there in the beginning of the Midwest Conference for the UPSL, and now they're back as the league continues to grow and attrack deep, talented clubs to the mix. We look forward to working with the club to help grow the Kansas City market, and wish them success preparing for the season ahead."

Founded in 2006, Barilleros FC has participated in the best amateur leagues in the Kansas City area and traveled to Chicago, IL, and Dallas, TX, for prestigious Copa Alianza tournaments. The club is currently a member of the Professional Arena Soccer League (PASL). 

"We have played in the UPSL in the past and we know the level of competition that this league offers," Garcia said. "We are ready to be back and show off the level of competition our team has."

Games are scheduled to begin on  May 1. The club will announce its fixture calendar.

Barilleros FC is an American Soccer club currently based in Olathe, KS, and a new member of the United Premier Soccer League. Barilleros FC will begin play in the UPSL's Midwest Conference South Division.

Founded in 2006, Barilleros FC can participate in the qualifying rounds for the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup through their affiliation and membership with the UPSL, the U.S. Soccer Federation (USSF) and the United States Adult Soccer Association (USASA).
