UPSL Women Announces Northeast Expansion with New York Magic

New York, NY based Development Club Joins UPSL Women for 2021 Spring Season

December 30, 2020 – Los Angeles, CA – UPSL Women is pleased to announce New York Magic as its newest expansion team ahead of the 2021 Spring Season.

Based in New York, NY, New York Magic is sponsored by Arkema, and will begin play in the Northeast Conference American Division.

UPSL Women National Director Paul Caligiuri said, "We are excited to finally welcome New York Magic as members of the UPSL. It's been a long time coming and we're proud that the club has hung in there through the pandemic to re-emerge with UPSL Women for this upcoming 2021 Spring Season. We know that there's a great deal of interest in the Northeast for UPSL Women, and we know New York Magic's membership will mean a great deal to other clubs in the region. We look forward to building UPSL Women's Northeast Conference with New York Magic as its flagship club."

Lyndelle Phillips is General Manager of New York Magic. Gaetano "Nino" DePasquali is Head Coach.

"We are looking forward to the unique and positive footprint that UPSL Women will create in U.S. soccer. On a national landscape the UPSL is unifying women's and men's Pro Development with the stated goal of having a promotion/relegation structure. We're proud to be a part of the league that's capturing that synergy and we envision some great and memorable soccer experiences in this first season of UPSL Women," Phillips said.

New York Magic will announce tryouts and its upcoming game schedule.

New York Magic is an American Soccer club currently based in New York, NY, and a new member of the United Premier Soccer League. New York Magic will begin play in the UPSL Women's Northeast Conference.
