December 3, 2019 – Los Angeles – The United Premier Soccer League (UPSL) is pleased to announce Laredo Heat Soccer Club as a member kicking off with the 2020 Spring Season.

Based in Laredo (Texas), Laredo Heat SC is owned by About Soccer, Inc., operated by its Board of Directors, and is a registered non-profit organization in the State of Texas. The club will begin UPSL play in the Central Conference Heart Division I, and host its UPSL homes games at Texas A&M International University Soccer Complex (5201 University Blvd, Laredo, TX 78041) in compliance with UPSL National Division standards.

United Premier Soccer League National Director Matt Kahla said, "We are pleased to welcome Laredo Heat SC to the UPSL. This is an organization that has thrived in a soccer-rich environment, and with the dedicated leadership its Board of Directors, Laredo Heat is expanding operations and looking to the UPSL as part of their plan. That's a tremendous vote of confidence for the UPSL, and we are definitely looking forward to Laredo Heat SC's contributions moving forward."

Laredo Heat SC will continue its participation in the National Premier Soccer League (NPSL). The club was the 2018 NPSL Lone Star Division champions. Laredo Heat SC II will exclusively compete in the UPSL.

Jose Guillermo "Memo" Sifuentes is Director of Coaching for Laredo Heat SC. Fabian Arciga serves as Head Coach.

Laredo Heat SC President Shashi Vaswani said, "We've decided to join the UPSL to give our young men stronger competition on a more consistent basis, and the UPSL season schedule works perfectly for our players that play high school soccer. In addition, being able to have home games is a plus for the club. The timing to join the UPSL now makes sense because many of our youth players are starting to get to a level that they need to compete at a higher level in order to be ready to possibly get the opportunity to play with our NPSL team during the summer."

Laredo Heat SC youth academy features recreational and competitive programs for boys and girls of all ages, servicing more than 100 players from the border town community.

The club will announce its upcoming game schedule.
